The Power of Perception and your Reception, Provision and Victory in life.*

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: *nevertheless, _if thou see me_ when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee;* but if not, it shall not be so. – 2 King 2:9-10.

All the departments of our life is governed by an ability God installed in us when He formed us in our mother's womb. It is God's desire to see every one of us thrive where He planted us. God wants all of His sixth day creation to be His direct representation in the earth so He [God] built into all of us the power of perception – the ability for vision, acuity, awareness and insight.

Among the many abilities God gave you, the ability for perception is chief among them all. Perception involves receiving and organizing and identifying and understanding inputs that strikes our sensory organs which in turn forms our awareness, knowledge and understanding, experience, judgement and expectations.

Our perception forms the basis for our all our actions, our behaviours and of course our character. Our perception is revealed in our promptness to take responsibilities or our lounging in irresponsibility. Our response is a function of what we have perceived and as we have perceived so we behave; how we respond and relate to our environment is a product of how we see.

Perception in the context of this article goes beyond our physical sensory organs to our mind's sensory organs. References would be made to the physical organs but note that its meanings goes deeper than the physical.

In the context of this article, I will define the word perception as the act of taking in or receiving into your spirit. When a woman takes in, she is said to have conceived. The act of perception is the same as the act of conception. Each time we perceive something, we are involved in an act of reception, simply put, an act of conception. Perceiving is conceiving.

Your conception would always translate into the birth of what was conceived. This is how nature has ordered it to be. The only thing that can hinder the birth of what was conceived is an aborted conception. If all factors are satisfied, the act of perception which is also an act of conception will definitely be brought to birth.

The prophet Elijah's response to his servant's request for double portion of power and anointing was a simple assignment of perception: "if thou see (perceive) me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so". The eyes that look are plenty, the eyes that actually see (perceive) are very few. You must understand that the sons of prophets were from afar looking but not perceiving, hence, they received nothing, only Elisha whose perception was sharp enough perceived and as such got a double fold of Elijah's spirit. No matter how lofty the fit might appear to be, the only thing needed is perception, no matter how difficult a thing or situation may be, all that you need is to see the solution.

You cannot receive beyond the level you perceive.  Unless you can perceive it, God would not release it. If "what you don't see, you can't seize" is true, then it suffices to say that every possibility in your perception domain is already a reality in your life. What you can’t picture, you can’t capture, that which your mind’s eyes cant behold, just forget it, you cannot hold.

God encouraged Abraham to lift up his eyes in the expansion of the scope of his perception by looking in all the direction, for as far as he can perceive, he would possess; Jacob perceived the doorway into heaven, He received a renewed promise from God, Joseph perceived he would end as royalty, he saw himself as someone who would receive obeisance, he patiently endured his furnace of affliction, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ saw the glory that was set before Him, He endured the cross. We can only get to our destination in life when we have a vision of our destination. The best way to handle today is a clear perception of tomorrow.

Anyone who has the power over your perception has the power over your life. Your victory starts and ends on the wings of perception. Eve fell to the wiles of the serpent - Satan because she surrendered her perception to the devil. Samson in order to completely debilitated and deactivated got his primary organs of perception gorged out by his enemies. Satan only takes advantage of you where you are blind. Where there is no vision, the people are cast of restraint, where there are no vision, the people are made naked, running wild [Prov. 29:18]. Anyone or anything you submit your visions to determines your life's outcome. My Pastor would always say where there is a vision, there are always provisions. When you can perceive/conceive you can receive.

Today, I call on you to rearrange your perception, to renew your mind with the Word of God. On the pages of the Holy Scripture are written concerning you all that heaven has purposed for you, fix your eyes on it, fix your mind on it. Surrender your perception to God's Word and Will and receive delivery of all you perceive.

I pray for you that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, that your hearts will be flooded with light from God's Word, that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power available for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Jesus Christ up from death, opening the eyes of countless people. In Jesus Name. Amen.
