Mourinho refers to ‘poisoned gift’ after win over Zorya

Manchester United have been given a “poisoned gift” of a fixture
schedule when the Europa League resumes, yet Jose Mourinho
will not allow any let-up when Fenerbahce arrive in between
clashes with Liverpool and Chelsea.
A fortnight on from losing their Group A opener at Feyenoord, the
United manager highlighted the importance of securing victory
against relatively unknown Zorya Luhansk at Old Trafford.
The Ukrainians made life tough but Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s close-
range header secured a 1-0 win, kick-starting a campaign that
continues in October at home to Fenerbahce.
The Turkish giants arrive three days after United travel to rivals
Liverpool for a fascinating Monday night Premier League clash,
with the Europa League clash bookended by Mourinho’s first
return to Chelsea on the Sunday.
“Well, we could play Liverpool on the Saturday, we could play
Liverpool on the Sunday,” the United manager said. “We play
Liverpool on the Monday.
“So maybe we don’t have the best conditions, especially because
we play against two top Premier League games that don’t play in
European competitions.
“We had this kind of poisoned gift of playing on the Monday. That
creates a very difficult situation, but we want to try and qualify for
the next round. We want to try.
“(There is a) long time to go, almost a month, but we want to try,
so we will play against Fenerbahce with a team with possibilities
to beat Fenerbahce.”
Asked if he tried to get the Liverpool games moved back from
Monday or whether that was impossible, he said: “I think it is
impossible.
“The poisoned gift is already there, so what can you do? We just
have to play Monday, and then Thursday, and then Stamford
Bridge on the Sunday.
“But before that we have Stoke (this Sunday), so let us concentrate
on Stoke because it is another poisoned gift because Stoke is not
what the table says.
“The manager is very good, the players are good, the team is good,
so when I look to the table, that’s not Stoke’s position.
“I play against a good Stoke and not the Stoke in that position in
the table.”
United will be looking for a fourth straight win in all competitions
when Mark Hughes’ side arrive at Old Trafford on Sunday
lunchtime.
Mourinho accepts they did not play “amazingly well” against Zorya
but got the job done, saying he was impressed with Wayne
Rooney’s impact after coming off the bench for a second
successive match.
“He was laughing and saying he made a great assist,” the United
boss said, regarding his strike into the ground which led to
Ibrahimovic’s winner. “But, really, he gave me what the team needs at that time, which is
a presence, a second presence in the box.
“He is more a striker than Juan (Mata) and Juan went more to the
right side.

“(Anthony) Martial brought, after the goal, freshness and speed,
also to try to kill the game, which we didn’t but he was a positive
presence, too.

“We started the game with a very good team and I had on mm
bench also players to give me solutions for everything.

“We have proof to win matches in the Europa League that we need
to be good, we need to play seriously because they are good
teams.”

Everton manager Ronald Koeman says his players have 'mental' problems

Ronald Koeman, the Everton manager, has admitted his
players are having a ‘mental problem’ imposing his pressing football style.
The Merseysiders suffered their first league defeat of the
season at Bournemouth last week , the Dutch coach feeling
his players struggled to follow his instructions.
“For some players it's difficult - for some it's a big problem
because they don't know what to do,” said Koeman ahead
of Friday’s meeting with Crystal Palace.
“So some will change their attitude and you wait. It's a
mental aspect not fitness. It is about attitude.

“Our striker is not used to pressing how we try to press the
opponent and it takes time. They found it difficult to do it
in the way we want. It's about the team, not an individual.
We have to improve in that area. That was the attention in
the sessions (this week) and we see will if we do it better
than we did last week.”
Koeman is trying to completely change the footballing
culture at Goodison Park, demanding more energy, more
closing down of opponents and greater fitness levels.

He said he has quizzed his players on how they believe
they can impose his style more effectively.
“I don't play, they play, so tell me,” he said. “Tell me how
we can solve the problem. Tell me how we can do better
pressing. Maybe they're not used to that, but I need
feedback, I like to have communication in the game.
Players are involved in meetings and it's not like 40 years
ago. It's good to have the meetings, because they need to
think about football, how we can do better, how we can do
more pressing. It is about the whole, not the manager.
Everybody at Everton wants to win, and you need feedback
to progress.”

Longest Married Couple Almost Never Happened

Ann was 17, born to Syrian immigrants. John was 21, and the
two grew up in the same neighborhood. The two became friends
in high school when he would pick her up and take her to their
Connecticut school. Ann’s parents nearly thwarted the
blossoming romance—her father had planned to arrange a
marriage for her to someone 20 years her senior.
Refusing to give up on love, John and Ann ran away to New
York City. Ann’s father lamented, but a family member consoled
him by saying young love wouldn’t last. The lovebirds eloped in
1932 and watched the world go through incredible
transformations, from the Great Depression to World War II,
from the golden age of radio to TV to iPhones.
On November 24, 2013, John and Ann Betar celebrated their
81st wedding anniversary . The couple have created quite the
brood. Their five children birthed them 14 grandchildren who
had 16 great-grandchildren. John, 102, and Ann, 98, are the
longest married couple in the United States of America.

When they say"love never dies"

Anna Kozlov had only been a newlywed for three days when she
bid her husband Boris adieu. He was off to fight in the Red
Army and she would await his return—or so they thought.
During Boris’s time away from home, Stalin exiled Anna and her
family to Siberia, and Anna couldn’t even leave word for her
husband. Boris spent years looking for her . The two shared a
hometown, but Anna was barred from visiting it, so the two
completely lost contact.
Anna was so distraught that she seriously contemplated
suicide. Her mother then destroyed all mementos of Boris and
Anna’s life together, including wedding photographs and
letters. She eventually remarried. Boris, unbeknownst to her,
did the same.
Years passed, and both lost their spouses. And then, 60 years
after Boris and Anna had said “I do,” something miraculous
happened. Anna at last managed to visit their shared hometown
of Borovlyanka when she saw an elderly man in the distance. It
was Boris. He’d come to the village to pay his respects at his
parents’ burial site, and when he noticed Anna, he ran up to her.
In true fairytale fashion, they had a second wedding and lived
happily ever after.

Some facts you ought to know about sleep.

Ever wondered why every living thing always takes out time to rest/sleep? Sleep is one nature's call you can't but give in to once it comes.
Sleep is a wonderful thing. But considering how much time it
takes up of our lives, over a lifetime you sleep an average of 26
YEARS, we definitely don't know that much about it.
As it turns out, sleep is pretty fascinating. Sure, all we have to do
is lay down and close our eyes, but what goes on after that is
quite incredible. Don't believe us? Check out these 22 facts below
and try to tell us you weren't shocked by at least one of them!

1. Humans are the only mammals on earth
that actually willingly delay sleep.

2. Sleep apnea, a condition where you
actually stop breathing, is the most common
cause of sleep disruption.
It affects 90 million Americans.

3. Think sleep has nothing to do with your
weight?
If you aren't getting enough sleep, you tend to eat MORE due to
decreased levels of leptin in your body.

4. People used to sleep in segments.
Before the invention of electricity, rather than sleeping through the
night many people would sleep for a few hours, wake up, read,
write, socialize, pray, or reflect, and then got back to sleep for
another few hours before waking up for the day.

5. All-nighters are never good.
If you're awake for 16 hours in a row, your mind's ability to
function is impaired, similar to the feeling when you have a blood
alcohol level of .05%.

Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun Says Nigeria Is Already getting over the Recession..

The Minister of finance,  Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, yesterday,  comfirmed Nigeria was already walking out of the economic recession following some positive measures the Federal Government had taken.
Mrs. Adeosun added that the recovery plan was to invest more in
infrastructure and stop wastage in governance.
The Minister, in an interview with reporters after the closing
ceremony of the 2016 National Council of Finance and Economic
Development (NACOFED) conference in Abeokuta, the Ogun State
capital, noted that the economic recovery process would be driven
from the local, state and the Federal Government levels.
“We are investing more in capital expenditure than we have ever
invested. We are sorting out infrastructure; we are stopping
wastage and so the sign of recovery is already there.
“We are already getting out of recession because of the actions the
Federal Government is taking. If you are in a problem, the day you
start to step towards progression, you are already getting out of it;
we are getting out of it.
“Agriculture and solid minerals are already starting to grow and so
they are responding to our policy initiative and we are expected to
continue in that direction.”
“Nigeria is getting out of the trouble that we have found ourselves.
We are turning things around and I believe everybody is united
and everybody that was here (conference) represented the 36
states of Nigeria and this recovery will be driven from the state and
local governments,” she said.
According to her, the diversification of the economy from oil to
agriculture and solid minerals is yielding positive results.
She urged the Finance Commissioners from the 36 states and
other stakeholders at the conference not to see economic recovery
as the Federal Government’s responsibility, but rather join hands
to save the economy.
“There are no Federal people; everybody lives in the states. So
having everybody together working in the same direction is very
important and I want everybody to be included,” Mrs. Adeosun
said.

About last night's debate: what's your take on this?

C Trump guilty of 'mansplaining?'

Mr Trump is said to have interrupted Mrs Clinton three times as
many times as she interrupted him during the debate, leading to
accusations that the Republican was engaging in sexist behaviour
by attempting to assert male dominance.

How did the moderator do?
Mr Trump initially told CNN that Lester Holt had done "a great job"
and his questions were "very fair", but the Republican nominee did
complain in a tweet that nothing had come up during the debate
about issues on which Mrs Clinton is perceived to be weak.
Later, speaking on Fox News, he went on the attack: "He didn't
ask her about a lot of things he should have asked her about...
Why, I don't know."
When asked if he felt Holt had veered a little too far "into the left
lane", he replied: "More than a little."
Former New York Mayor and Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani said
Holt should be "ashamed of himself", and Fox media pundit
Howard Kurtz accused him of anti-Trump bias.

Mourinho tells team captain-Rooney to check self and stop criticising others.

Can't tell if Jose Mourinho held a private meeting with his captain
Wayne Rooney after the Manchester derby, but news has it that  Mourinho told Rooney to address his form,  and not complain about
other players when he himself is not playing well.
The 30-year-old's first team spot seems to be in trouble after
being dropped during United's Premier League win against
champions Leicester on Saturday.
But the manager has said he dropped Rooney so as to enable
the United team to exploit Leicester’s defensive set-up and he
also insisted that Rooney will continue to remain the club's
captain.
“But we thought against a team like Leicester, the way they
defend we thought the best solution for us was to play with the
two fast kids (Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard) and (Juan)
Mata in a position where he can interact with these fast kids,” he
said.
“When our main striker is Zlatan, we need fast people around
him. Against Leicester that was the best solution for us.”
“My captain is my captain, if he is on the pitch or if he is at
home.
“Sometimes I feel like you think I know nothing about football,
but I know the rules of the game and can only play 11.
“So until they change the rules, I start with 11-Mourinho

I love Mourinho, but can't tell the chances of him winning this league, though it's still early to start predicting.

Arsene Wenger talks about his win over Chelsea

Arsene Wenger is not getting carried away after Arsenal's
convincing win over Chelsea and has pointed out a number of
areas that his team can improve going into the rest of the
campaign. The Gunners won 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, in a
performance the manager described as near perfect with Alexis
Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil scoring the goals.
The north London club had the upper hand during the entire
duration of the game. The first-half saw the team pressing the
Blues high up the pitch, and attacking with pace and incision,
while the second period was more to do with controlling
possession and not allowing Chelsea to find a way back into
the game.
Arsenal have scored 15 goals in six games thus far this

French coach explained.

N26m registration fee paid by FCE students lost in transit

The Police and authorities of the Federal College of
Education, Zaria, have commenced investigation into how
the registration fees paid by 1,128 students through banks
was not credited into the institution’s account.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that more than N26m
paid by the students in some banks in Zaria were not
credited to the school’s account.
An affected student who craved anonymity said, “I personally
paid my money in the bank’s (name withheld) main branch
in Sabongari, but to my greatest dismay, they said my money
did not enter the FCE account.
“As I am talking to you now, my name is not captured as a
registered students and I am not the only person affected.
“Over 1,000 students are now facing similar problem, and all
categories of students are affected.”
Another student said he also paid through the same bank,
adding, “I have the payment teller and the registration slip
with me; however, they said I have not registered.”
According to him, a large number of the affected students are
now stranded.
The Registrar of the college, Dr. Jibril Lawal, confirmed the
incident, but debunked allegations of
management connivance as suggested by the students.
He said, “The management has constituted a committee
under the chairmanship of the College Bursar, Mohammed
Sani-Uwais, to thoroughly investigate the mater and report
back to the management.”
On his part, Sani-Uwais said payment made by 1,128
students was not credited into the institution’s TSA account.
He added that 82 other students also had irregular records of
payment.
Sani-Uwais said 99 per cent of the victims paid their money
through the first generation bank located in Sabongari area of
Zaria city.
“This is a serious issue, as such, we reported the case to the
police and police advised us to come back and set up an
investigation committee to investigate the matter, which we
did.
“We have gone a long way in discharging our
responsibilities. When a student appears before us, we ask
him how did you make the payment, whom did you pay to,
can you identify him?
“We want to establish where the problem is and also who
and who are involved in the shoddy deal and report back to
the management for further action,” the bursar said.
Sani-Uwais alleged that an attempt had been made on his
life as a result of the investigation.
Officials of the affected bank did not respond to inquiries on
the matter, but a reliable source informed NAN that the major
suspect had resigned before the case became public.
The spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command, ASP
Aliyu Usman, confirmed that the case was reported to Zaria
Area Command and that investigation into the matter had
begun.
“One of the prime suspects has been arrested and
investigation is still ongoing,” Usman said.

toward you for coming into my life and showing me the
God kind of love.
With you, I have learnt more than I envisioned. You've
helped me to see that there is quite a lot more to believe
in. You have loved me so dear and opened my eyes to see
new possibilities in uncovering my potentials. Together,
God has empowered us to raise fortunate children who are
all now Kingdom giants in our lifetime to his glory! You are
an unparalleled man of valor. Surely, the grace of God will
continue multiplying upon your life and ministry in new and
