ASSU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) HAS given a directive to all its members nationwide to embark on a one-week warning
strike which is to take effect from Wednesday, 6th November 2016.
This is to protest the non-implementation of its 2009 agreement with
the Federal Government.
The union while accusing the government of allegedly turning the establishment of universities into constituency projects to score a political point, has made it clear that the strike is going to be 'total and comprehensive' with no teaching, examination or meetings taking place while the strike lasts.
