Nigeria clocks 56

On this day, 1st October, 1960(56 years ago), Nigeria became an independent country. Our fathers became free from the whims and Caprice of the colonial Masters. They became free from the fear of being captured and sold offshore as salves.
But while the British imported policies lasted, Nigerians felt deprived and relegated to the background and hence,  fought through media
and with nationalists as Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe,
Anthony Enahoro and a host of others who hazarded their lives
for the liberation of the nation from the British imperialists.
And soon,  a new journey began under the leadership of first prime
minister, Tafawa Balewa who was soon killed in the first military coup.
HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS TO PONDER ON.
1. Having come this long way, what have we really become independent of?
2. Do you think Nigeria would have been better developed if those colonial Masters had stayed behind?
3.  What ever happened to children going to the stadium every October 1st for a March pass, or wasn't that how it used to be?
DO HAVE A SPLENDID INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION WITH LOTS OF LOVE.
